Crime Victims Assistance Program

The Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP) provides a range of benefits to assist victims. A victim may be eligible for one or more of the following benefits, if the need for the benefit is directly related to injury from a crime: Medical and dental services, Prescription drug expenses, Counselling, Protective measures, Replacement of damaged or destroyed eyeglasses, clothing and disability aids, Childcare and homemaker services, Disability aids and related disability expenses or services, Support for a child born because of a crime, Vocational services, Income support or lost earning capacity, Transportation and related expenses.

Muscular Dystrophy Canada

Muscular Dystrophy Canada provides Programs and Services, Research and Advocacy to support people affected by neuromuscular disorders.  Muscular dystrophies are a group of disorders and are one type of neuromuscular disorder. Other types of neuromuscular disorders also under MDC’s umbrella include myopathies, neuromuscular junction disorders, peripheral neuropathies and lower motor neuron disorders.

Kinsmen Foundation of BC

This organization provides funding for a wide range of equipment in order to improve the quality of life and mobility for individuals with disabilities. We will consider even the most specialized equipment if it has the potential to make a difference in someone’s life.

Mobility Reimbursement Program

Vehicle Manufacturers Mobility Reimbursement Program - Clients who purchase or lease a new vehicle can receive up to $1000.00 in reimbursement toward the cost of eligible adaptive equipment installed (or reinstalled) on their new vehicle. (See your local car dealership for details.)  


Bridge to Mobility Program

They provide last dollar funding grants up to $5,000. If you are seeking funding for a wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV), search for a (NMEDA) dealer like us and request a meeting.

National Organization for Vehicle Accessibility is directed to individuals with disabilities who have secured the majority of the money needed to fund vehicle modification products and just need some additional help to reach their goal. High Fives focuses on preventing life-changing injuries and provides resources and hope if they  do happen.

HELP Fill a Dream

The FAMILY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM assists families whose child has a life-threatening / critical condition, focusing on a child’s mobility, health, and well-being. CASA - Back to Agriculture

The Back to Ag Program is a funding project focused on supporting the cost of adaptive technology for farmers that have experienced a traumatic injury. The Back to Ag Program is funded by FCC and delivered in partnership with CASA and the Rick Hanson Foundation.

Government Funding Options


Jordan's Principle

Jordan's Principle makes sure all First Nations children living in Canada can access the products, services and supports they need, when they need them. Funding can help with a wide range of health, social and educational needs, including the unique needs that First Nations Two-Spirit and LGBTQQIA children and youth and those with disabilities may have.

Jordan's Principle is named in memory of Jordan River Anderson. He was a young boy from Norway House Cree Nation in Manitoba.

Government of Canada - Treasury Board

Under the Labor Market Agreements for Persons with Disabilities, the Government of Canada contributes funding to provincial programs and services to improve the employment situation of Canadians with disabilities by enhancing their employ-ability, increasing the employment opportunities available to them, and by building on the existing knowledge base.

Canada Revenue Agency

 Medical Expenses- payments to adapt a vehicle (that are prescribed by a medical practitioner) used to transport a person with a disability or payments for a device (as prescribed by a medical practitioner) that enables an individual with a mobility impairment to operate a vehicle; 20% of payments for a van that has been previously adapted, or is adapted upon purchase or within six months of the date of purchase (minus the cost of adapting the van as prescribed by a medical practitioner) to transport an individual who needs the use of a wheelchair, to a limit of $5,000

ICBC Disability Discount

If you are 16 or older, own or lease a vehicle, and are “a person with disabilities,” you may qualify for a 25% discount on your Basic Auto plan.Your vehicle must be rated for pleasure use, to and from work, business use or certain recreational or commercial uses.

You can only apply the Disability Discount to one vehicle.
